Iowa State student launches TwoFactorAuth.org

Josh Davis, a Computer Science major at Iowa State University, recently launched twofactorauth.org "a very simple website that has a list of all the most common categories of websites like social media, finance, email, etc" and whether or not they support two factor authentication. The idea for the site came up in the wake of Naoki Hiroshima's twitter handle being hijacked.

"All I wanted to do was raise awareness for better security practices," he told me today via email.

Raise awareness, he has. According to Josh, the GitHub repo has "blown up" and the #SupportTwoFactorAuth hashtag is getting companies to respond.

Helping to raise awareness, the story has been covered internationally by Wired, TechCrunch and Ars Technica.
